So apparently, my favorite cake recipe doesn’t translate into cupcakes well. I think these are the ugliest cupcakes I have ever made…
Some of them are falling apart and they all look like they are caving in.
I think it’s hilarious. I used to be a perfectionist. Okay, maybe God is still working on that one. There was a time that I would make new ones instead of serving these.
But here’s the thing. Clarissa has never had a cupcake before. She doesn’t know what it is supposed to look like. Or taste like for that matter. She is going to be thrilled that I am putting grown up food on her tray. She doesn’t understand that we are going to have a party to celebrate her. I doubt she will remember her first birthday when she is an adult. or five.
I am so glad that my cupcakes do not measure my success as a mother. Or even someone who blogs about her desserts.
I wonder how many times we look at one thing in our lives and get all worked up about it. When God is saying, “Hey. Don’t waste your time on that one thing. Look at all that I have for you over here.” God has a wonderful plan for Clarissa (and me and you) whether we eat cupcakes or not. I am so looking forward to watching this plan unfold.
