One thing you won’t find on this blog is an article about how to train your child to sleep because, frankly, I haven’t a clue! I think Clarissa has fallen asleep before midnight about three times in her nine months. I have read articles and books. I have Googled the experts, and talked to the pediatrician. You know what I think the problem is? My baby has not read these books so she doesn’t know what she is supposed to do!
I don’t say this to complain, but to encourage you! Your child is an individual. There has never been a child like yours and there never will be another one. God designed your child uniquely. So if your child doesn’t do things the way the experts say, don’t give up. You know your child best. Trust your judgment. And pray for wisdom.
I am so glad that God chose me to be Clarissa’s mother. Mamas, remember on hard days that God chose you to parent your child. No one can do it better than you can. So don’t compare yourself or your child to everyone else. Just enjoy your little one.
I love my baby girl. She is so happy and joyful. She also knows what she wants and when she wants it. I am learning that just because she is doing something that I don’t particularly like (staying up late for example), doesn’t mean she is doing something wrong. It is just something I don’t prefer (works for husbands too). Instead of praying for Clarissa to be who I want her to be, I need to pray for her to become all that God has created her to be. That He would give me wisdom to know how to nurture her gifts and talents so that she can live out her calling. I am pretty excited to see what that looks like as she grows!
